The Immigration Attorney is responsible for providing legal counsel to low income immigrants and their families on immigration matters. Provide initial consultation and case assessment and develop an attainable legal plan for the client. Represent clients before the Department of Homeland Security and Immigration Court, completing applications, advising clients as to their legal rights, and preparing legal briefs. Representing the Agency to a variety of organizations. Law degree from an accredited law school. Licensed to practice law in at least one State. Excellent communication, analytic, leadership, and interpersonal skills. Ability to set priorities and exercise good judgment. Ability to work with clients from diverse cultures. Spanish language skills required. Knowledge of immigration law preferred. Two to three years legal experience preferred. A driver's license with no more than 3 points is required. Ability to move throughout the building and climbing stairs. Position requires intermittent sitting, standing and bending.
